ALMOST £20million is to be ploughed into affordable council housing in Renfrewshire.
A total of 140 homes will be built at sites in Johnstone and Paisley, with the first of the new properties due for completion by the end of May next year.

More than £6m has been earmarked to create 39 homes in Auchengreoch Road, Johnstone, with around £13m being spent on a development of 101 properties in the Tannahill area of Ferguslie Park.
Detailed designs for the new houses will now be finalised with residents in these communities.

Families are expected to move into the Johnstone homes within the next nine months, with the Paisley properties scheduled to be ready by the end of 2021.
Contracts for the new developments were approved by Renfrewshire Council’s finance, resources and customer services policy board this week.
