A RENFREW pervert has been warned he faces jail after being caught with thousands of images of young girls being abused and women having sex with dogs.

Brian McCallion, 39, was found to have more than 5,000 abuse files stored on his phone and a PC at the home he shares with his wife, less than six months after they got married.

The couple tied the knot in June 2018 and Paisley Sheriff Court heard it was his wife who answered the door in December that year when officers raided their home in Fulbar Lane.

The details emerged when McCallion, who has worked as a bouncer in pubs, admitted three charges against him.

He pleaded guilty to downloading indecent images of children over a 12-year period from 2006 to 2018, possessing them over the same length of time and being in possession of bestiality images.

Procurator fiscal depute Keri Marshall told how McCallion was found to have a total of 5,492 illegal images within his home.

She said: “In November 2018, the Public Protection Unit of Police Scotland received information that, on May 2, 2018, category-C indecent images of children were uploaded onto the KIK messaging app.”

The court heard that McCallion wasn’t at home when police went to his address to execute a search warrant but his wife let officers inside.

McCallion arrived home a short time later.

Miss Marshall said: “A Samsung mobile phone was seized from the living room, which the accused indicated belonged to him.

“A Compaq computer unit was seized from the bedroom and the accused stated it belonged to him.”

There were 5,470 indecent images on the Compaq unit, including pictures and films, and a further 22 still images on the Samsung phone.

The images featured female children aged between four and 14 being sexually abused by grown men and being forced to perform sex acts on them.

Miss Marshall said he was also in possession of “extreme” images which showed “females engaged in sexual activity with dogs.”

After hearing that McCallion’s lawyers would address him on the next occasion about “deep-rooted psychological difficulties due to childhood trauma,” Sheriff James Spy called for background reports to be prepared ahead of sentencing.

McCallion was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register and could be caged for as long as five years when he returns to the dock next month to learn his fate.
