A MANHUNT has been launched for a Renfrew man who has breached the terms of his parole.
Joseph Gilogley, a former inmate at HMP Castle Huntly in Dundee, has not been seen since July.
He was released in January of this year but officers have not been able to trace him since a police operation in Kilbarchan.
It is believed he has connections to the Glasgow area.
Mr Gilogley was jailed for eight years following a "brutal and senseless" axe attack on a Kincardine, in Fife, car wash employee.
He had sunk a large part of an inheritance into the valeters, before his business partner ran off leaving behind serious debt.
The Renfrew man was left without his money and the car wash was later taken over by another individual.
However, raging Gilogley stormed up to the premises in September 2014 and demanded his investment back.
Innocent worker Ryszard Nowakowski was punched and struck with an axe during a vicious assault with Gilogley telling him: “You will be getting this every day until you leave here.”
Mr Nowakowski was badly hurt as a result, sustaining injuries to his head, arm and eye.
Mr Gilogley is white, around 6 ft. 2 inches in height, with a slim, muscular build, short black hair.
Officers from Renfrew Police Station are appealing for anyone who may have seen Joseph or has any information or knowledge as to his whereabouts to contact them via 101.
Anyone wishing to provide information anonymously can do so through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
