A COMMUNITY farm has received a welcome makeover, thanks to a generous construction company.
Nearly £40,000 of improvements have been carried out at Lamont Farm, in Erskine, with the venue now boasting fresh paths, a hay shed, new decking and kids’ play equipment.
Meanwhile, animal enclosures have received an upgrade, while the cracks in the concrete yard have been smoothed over.
The transformation has been made possible by hub West Scotland’s Helping Hands initiative, which aims to revitalise valued community facilities.
Yvonne Elliot, manager of Lamont Farm, said she was amazed at the difference the changes have made.
She added: “It’s been incredible for us all.
“The volunteers are really excited with the transformation of the farm.
“We’re really pleased the animals now have more comfortable homes and our volunteers and visitors will be able to enjoy the farm even more thanks to the many improvements.
“It’s been amazing and we can’t thank everyone enough.”
Established in 1977, the farm remains a popular attraction in Renfrewshire, pulling in 10,000 visitors annually.
Iain Marley, CEO of hub West Scotland, said: “We are grateful to Renfrewshire Council for nominating Lamont Farm and providing the opportunity for hub West partners to come together and deliver such significant improvements to the benefit of Lamont Farm and the wider community. Adding value to communities is at the heart of our purpose.”
