A WOMAN is in critical condition in hospital following a road crash with a tractor in a Renfrewshire village. 

The 43-year-old was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow, after being struck by the vehicle in Lochwinnoch Road, Kilmacolm, at around 11.15am on Sunday. 

Medics have described her condition as "serious but stable" and are treating her for head and leg injuries. 

A friend of the victim, aged 29, was also injured but later released.
