A WOMAN is facing trial accused of battering her partner and lunging at a teenage girl in Erskine.

Denise Kelly is said to have set upon Gordon Houston at a property in Inverbervie on Sunday, October 20.

It is claimed she rained punches on his head and body, in an offence prosecutors allege was aggravated by involving abuse of her ex-partner.

Kelly, 39, is also said to have repeatedly lunged at a 14-year-old girl, who can’t be named for legal reasons, on the same occasion.

Prosecutors claim she acted in a threatening or abusive way by shouting, swearing, hurling insults at Mr Houston and repeatedly trying to get at the girl.

Kelly, of Househillmuir Road, Glasgow, was arrested in connection with the allegations and held in custody before appearing in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court.

She pleaded not guilty during a short hearing, where she was represented by solicitor Terry Gallanagh.

Kelly was released on bail with special conditions not to approach or contact either of the alleged victims or to enter the street where the offences where allegedly committed.

A trial has been set for December, with a pre-trial hearing scheduled for this month (November).
