A MAN was caught with illegal drugs in a car in Barrhead last week.
Police stopped the vehicle in Carlibar Drive at around 7pm on Friday, November 1 before searching a 20-year-old passenger.
Officers recovered a quantity of herbal cannabis and issued the man with a recorded police warning.
A teenager was also found in alleged possession of cannabis at the weekend after cops stopped him in the street.
The 16-year-old male was on Busby Road in Clarkston at around 12.30am on Saturday, November 2 when he was approached by police officers.
A search was conducted and a quantity of herbal cannabis was recovered from the teen.
He too was issued with a recorded police warning.
Meanwhile, an East Renfrewshire Police spokesperson commented: "Drugs is an issue that gets constantly looked at in the area. Dealing with drug crime remains as one of our local priorities."
