A JOHNSTONE man is facing trial accused of brutally attacking a man and a woman.
Gary Hannigan, 30, is said to have set upon the pair in Paisley.
Prosecutors claim he attacked the woman on July 21 in Dalskeith Road.
He is alleged to have punched Kirsteen Dawson on the head, tried to strike her with a broken bottle and a pen, leaving her injured.
He is also said to have attacked Christopher McKay on the same day in Dalskeith Avenue.
Court papers claim while acting with another, unidentified individual, Hannigan struck Mr McKay on the head with an “unknown implement”.
Hannigan is then said to have repeatedly struck Mr McKay on the body with a knife.
After hearing from defence solicitor Kirsty McGeehan last week that Hannigan of Sycamore Avenue, Johnstone, was pleading not guilty, Sheriff James Spy adjourned the case until next month.
