JACK Clark has said he wants to give young people a voice in his bid to become the next MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire South.
The 20-year-old Liberal Democrat candidate feels he is best-placed among election candidates to represent youth in the area.
“I am currently a student, so I have a better dynamic with them,” he told The Gazette.
“I’ve also been involved with the student union over various things so I can get their concerns on board as well.”

Mr Clark, who is the same age as his rival Mhairi Black was when she was first elected in 2015, wants to improve options for school leavers.
“I would like to put better focus on college and apprenticeships so that people do have other opportunities to success,” he added.
“They don’t have to feel forced to go to university.”
Although Mr Clark was too young to vote in both the Scottish and EU referendums, he said his age should not deter voters.
“I am young, but it doesn’t mean I don’t know what I’m doing.

“This is something I’ve been really interested in for years and I think I can do the job.”
He added: “I think it’s a good thing young people are getting interested in politics.
“It affects their everyday lives and it’s good to be interested and good to participate.”
