MEMBERS of Johnstone History Society are taking the town’s residents on a trip down memory lane, courtesy of a new calendar.

The A4-sized 2020 calendar features 12 photos of Johnstone, both old and new.

With scenes ranging from Ludovic Square of yesteryear to pipers leading a parade down Thorn Brae, as well as the now demolished Paton’s Mill, it is sure to jog the memories of those with a taste for nostalgia.

There is also an impressive old snap of the Wallace Memorial, in neighbouring Elderslie.

Iain Murray, of Johnstone History Society, told The Gazette: “The calendars can be purchased at the Johnstone History Museum, located in the Morrisons store in Johnstone.

“The museum is run by volunteer members of the society for the benefit of local people and visitors to the area.

“The society also runs a website through which the calendars can be purchased.

“Any profits made go to assist with the running costs of the museum.”

For more details or to order a copy of the calendar, which is priced at £7, go online here.
