A MAN has been arrested for allegedly causing a ruckus on a bus by using "pepper spray".
The 41-year-old is said to have sprayed the substance on a friend, 25, just before the pair boarded a replacement bus service between Paisley Gilmour Street and Greenock.
The vehicle was halted by the driver as it passed through Bishopton, in Greenock Road, at around noon on Saturday when the driver and several passengers felt irritation on their eyes and skin.
The pair were removed from the bus and later found by officers, who arrested the man for alleged culpable and reckless conduct.
No one on the bus received medical treatment.
He is due to appear in Paisley Sheriff Court today.
