ONE of Renfrewshire’s best-known charities has been handed a cash boost by leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey West Scotland.

The £4,000 donation will be used by veterans’ charity Erskine to treat its residents to days out during 2020.

Karen McAulay, community fundraising manager at Erskine, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support we have received from Taylor Wimpey and we can’t thank them enough for their generous donation.

“The money will be spent on trips and days out for our residents in our four care homes in Bishopton, Glasgow and Edinburgh.”

The cash was raised by Taylor Wimpey staff through various activities, including a raffle.

Willie Burns, managing director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “The work we do is a lot more than just building high-quality homes. Being able to work with local businesses and organisations that surround our developments and our regional business means a great deal to us and it’s great to know that we are helping to make a difference to the lives of people in local communities.”
