DRIVERS are being warned to expect delays as resurfacing takes place on one of the busiest stretches of road in Renfrewshire.

A 300m westbound section of the M8 off-slip at Junction 28, near Glasgow Airport, is to be repaired later this month.

This will mean a series of overnight closures, from 8pm until 6am, on Monday, February 17, to Thursday, February 20, and between the same hours from Monday, February 24, to Thursday, February 27.

Liam Browne, Scotland TranServ’s area network manager, said: “We have been working closely with the emergency services, local authority and key stakeholders to carefully schedule this essential programme of road surface improvements.

"In particular, we have consulted with airport management to help reduce the impact on their customers and staff.

“Local diversion routes will be implemented while we deliver these long-term improvements to the surface of the off-slip. We would therefore like to ask any drivers using the trunk road overnight – and particularly those catching flights or collecting friends and family – to allow some extra time for their journeys.”
