A CHARITY is urging local businesses to get their workforce moving.
Firms are being encouraged to sign up for the Walk at Work Award, organised by Paths for All.
The award has been created by the walking charity in a bid to reverse the trend of inactive workplaces.
Lunchtime walks, ‘standing desks’ and organised litter-picks are just some of the activities implemented by companies to meet the accreditation criteria.
Ian Findlay CBE, chief officer at Paths for All, said: “The workplace is where the majority of us spend a great deal of our time, so it’s incredibly important that staff wellbeing is at the forefront of any employer’s mind.”
