The shocking incident took place in Mains River
A TERRIFIED family had their house smashed up by a brute during a late-night rammy.
Windows of the Mains River home, Erskine, were destroyed by a hammer-wielding thug at around 11pm on Saturday.
Two men, aged 30 and 32, were inside the home at the time of the attack.
Neither suffered any injuries, but cops say they have been left badly s by the incident.
Officers rushed to the scene but the thug had fled by the time they arrived.
A 36-year-old man was later arrested in connection with the incident and is due to appear in Paisley Sheriff Court today.
