THE swimming pool at Johnstone Community Sports Hub will close for essential maintenance at the end of this month.
Tiling in the pool is being repaired and replaced where necessary.
This means the pool at the hub in Beith Road will be closed from Monday, March 30, until Monday, April 20.
Swimmers are being encouraged to visit the four other pools in Renfrewshire and, in particular, the ON-X, in Linwood, which is a short drive from Johnstone.
Other pools are at Paisley’s Lagoon Leisure Centre, Renfrew Baths and Erskine Swimming Pool.
Swimming lessons due to be held at Johnstone Community Sports Hub while the pool there is closed have had to be cancelled but people who pay for the lessons by Direct Debit will be charged only for the proportion of April the pool is open.
Pay-as-you-go customers will pay a discounted fee the following month.
A spokesperson for Renfrewshire Leisure said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this unavoidable closure may cause but the comfort and safety of our customers is always a top priority for us.
“We have no option but to carry out this essential maintenance, which requires the pool to be drained before the work can be carried out and then refilled before it can open again.”
