COUNCIL staff are frantically trying to find space for children of “key workers” after demand for places at schools far exceeded expectations.
More than 1,300 pupils have been given a space at education hubs across Renfrewshire after schools were shutdown in a bid to stop coronavirus’ spread.
From Monday, Johnstone High School, Trinity High, in Renfrew, and Paisley’s Castlehead High School will be used to house secondary pupils, while primary kids will be sent to West Johnstone campus, St James’ Primary, in Renfrew, and Paisley’s West Primary.
Council chiefs say all NHS and social care staff, key staff working for energy suppliers, and all emergency service workers count as “key”.
A spokesperson said: “For those who we could not accommodate, we are sorry.”
