THREE men have been fined in Paisley as police toughen up on lockdown rules.
As the Coronavirus Act comes into force, police were granted powers to enforce coronavirus rules on staying at home and closing non-essential businesses.
The three men were given penalties after they left their homes without "reasonable excuse".
Paisley officers also closed down a building site which was still in operation.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon ordered building sites to close.
She said last Monday: “This morning I was specifically asked on radio about building sites and hair salons and my advice would be to close.
“If our National Health Service becomes overwhelmed people will die needlessly.
"This is about saving lives.”
In a statement, Police Scotland said: "Three males have been issued with fixed penalty notices in Paisley today for leaving their home addresses without a reasonable excuse.
"A building site has also been closed as carrying out non-essential work.
"Please stay home if you don't need to go out."
