POLICE have appealed for information after would-be thieves targeted a hotel in Renfrew.

Two men wearing dark hoodies were spotted by the night manager of the Normandy Hotel, in Inchinnan Road, at around 12.30am on Wednesday.

After unsuccessfully attempting to gain entry through a locked door at the rear of the building, the suspects fled the scene.

Footage from CCTV cameras is being reviewed as part of the police investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call officers on 101.
