AN investigation is underway after a would-be thief tried to break into a home in Johnstone.

The incident in the town’s High Street is believed to have taken place between midnight and 8am on Monday.

When the 19-year-old resident woke up in the morning, he discovered there was damage to his front door but nothing had been taken from the property.
