POLICE have urged people to make sure their home is secure at all times after a pensioner in Renfrew found an intruder in his house in the middle of the night.
The 73-year-old man had been praying in the living room of his Bleasdale Road home with the lights off at around 3.45am on Tuesday when he was disturbed by a noise.
He then spotted an intruder, dressed in dark clothing, standing at the living room door.
The unwelcome visitor quickly ran back out the front door, which was unlocked.
Police are keen for anyone who has information about the incident to call them on 101 and have also asked people in the area to make sure their doors are locked at all times.
