POLICE have appealed for information after thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused at a new housing development in Renfrewshire.

A number of homes at Taylor Wimpey's Brooklands site, between Linwood and Brookfield, were vandalised, with doors and windows smashed.

Yobs also covered some properties in graffiti and emptied a number of fire extinguishers.

The estimated cost of the damage is £5,500. Timber worth £300 was also pinched.

Police said an alarm was activated at the site, in Bridge of Weir Road, at around 5.45am on Monday, April 27.

Footage from a CCTV system covering the area shows two suspects climbing on a container during this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101.
