POLICE have launched an investigation after thousands of pounds was stolen from a pensioner’s home in Johnstone.
The 76-year-old victim allowed a woman, who is understood to be an acquaintance, into his Collier Street home at around 1pm on Saturday.
After she left, he discovered that £3,500 in cash had been taken.
Police said the victim has been able to identify the woman and enquiries are continuing.
