POLICE have appealed for information after a thug attacked a man during a row about dog dirt.

The 52-year-old victim was assaulted while standing outside his own home in Glenpatrick Road, Elderslie, at around 6.55pm on Wednesday.

An argument developed after he spoke to a dog walker whose German Shepherd had used his driveway as a toilet.

In the moments that followed, the yob repeatedly punched the victim before throwing him to the ground and kicking him in the leg.

Police, who said the victim was not injured, have described the suspect as around 6ft tall and of stocky build, with shaved hair. He was wearing glasses, a white t-shirt and jeans.

It is understood the thug was with a younger man at the time of the assault.

Witnesses and anyone else who has information are asked to call officers on 101.
