POLICE are appealing for information after a jogger was attacked by a thug in Bishopton.

The 57-year-old victim was punched repeatedly in the head and kicked in the ribs near Shilton Lane at around 3.40pm on Sunday, May 24.

He suffered minor injuries and it is understood the assault took place after he was confronted by the yob over social distancing.

Police are keen to trace a suspect who is described as in his late 30s or early 40s and around 6ft 2ins tall.

He has grey, shoulder-length hair and was wearing a grey zip top, grey combat trousers and walking boots at the time.

Anyone who has information is asked to call officers on 101.
