POLICE have been carrying out daily speed checks in Renfrewshire after receiving a growing number of complaints about dodgy drivers.

On-the-spot fines have been handed out to some motorists, with others given a warning.

Inspector Tracy Harkins said: “We will continue to carry out checks throughout the division to ensure public safety and promote greater awareness around the dangers of speeding.”
