A MAN has been arrested in connection with an alleged armed robbery at a Chinese takeaway in Linwood.

Police said the China Town business, in Mossedge Industrial Estate, Moss Road, was targeted while three employees were cleaning up at around 11.15pm on Saturday.

It is claimed a man demanded money and was handed a three-figure sum after threatening staff with a weapon.

A 53-year-old man was arrested by police last night and is due to appear in court today.
