POLICE have confirmed a fire at a Renfrewshire flat that claimed the lives of three children is not being treated as suspicious.
Fiona Gibson, 12, and her siblings Alexander, eight, and five-year-old Philip died as a result of the tragic blaze in Renfrew Road, Paisley, at around 9pm on Friday.
Their 39-year-old mum, Julie Daley, was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, where she is still being treated.
Her condition was originally described as "critical" but is now said to no longer be life-threatening.
Chief Inspector Rhona Fraser, area commander for Paisley, said: "My thoughts are with the family and the effect this has had on them and the local community.
"Officers remain at the address while enquiries continue. This is standard procedure and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
