AN ex-convict has been arrested at a house in Johnstone after running from the police for weeks.

Joe McGee was found residing in Hogg Avenue by officers last night, following a tip-off from a member of the public.

The 32-year-old had breached the terms of his licence after being released from prison in November last year.

Cops had been carrying out "extensive enquiries" across Renfrewshire to trace Mr McGee since May, and made a renewed plea for help to track down the former HMP Greenock prisoner last week.

A police spokesperson said: “We would like to thank the public for helping to assist in our enquiries.”
