POLICE are hunting a thug who assaulted and robbed a woman in a Renfrewshire park.

The 48-year-old victim was left shaken after being attacked in Glencoats Park, near Oakridge Crescent, Paisley, at around 6am on Monday.

The yob approached the woman on a bike and threw her to the ground, before stealing her handbag and its contents.

Cops said the victim suffered grazing to her face but did not need hospital treatment.

The suspect is described as wearing dark clothing and riding a grey bike at the time.

Police have urged witnesses or anyone with information to call them on 101.
