TWO men were taken to hospital at the weekend after violence erupted at a house party in Renfrew.

Police said the men, aged 23 and 27, were the victims of a serious assault in Kenley Road, in the Ferry Village area, at around 8pm on Saturday.

They were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow, for treatment.

The suspect fled the scene after carrying out the attack.

He is described as black, thin, around 5ft 11ins tall and with short black hair.

At the time, he was wearing black jeans and a white Nike top with a red tick.

Detective Sergeant Jason Buxton, of Paisley CID, said: “Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding this incident are ongoing.

“Officers are following a positive live of investigation and I would like to provide reassurance that there is no ongoing threat to the wider public.

“We are keen to talk to anyone who may have been in the Ferry Village area around the time of this incident who might have seen the man described or who may have dashcam footage of the area.”

Anyone with information should call the police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
