A MAN has been arrested after reportedly refusing to take a roadside breath test following a crash in Renfrew.

Police attended the scene in Inchinnan Road at around 12.40pm on Saturday after the 20-year-old suspect’s car collided with another vehicle.

His car was searched by officers, who are said to have recovered a large knife from the footwell.

It is claimed he again refused to agree to a breath test after being taken to a police station.

Police said the man was charged with careless driving, refusal to provide a breath specimen and possession of an offensive weapon, pending a court appearance this week.
