A RENFREWSHIRE charity is providing ‘Keep Safe’ cards and lanyards to residents who are unable to wear face coverings for health reasons.
I Am Me Scotland’s exemption cards and lanyards aim to inform members of the public that the holder is not required to wear a face mask.
Exemptions apply to those with a disability or health condition which prevents the safe use of a mask, or if a covering will cause them extreme distress and anxiety.
You are also exempt if you rely on lip reading to communicate or have a reasonable need to eat, drink or take medication.
A spokesperson for I Am Me Scotland said: “Please be kind, as some disabilities are hidden and no-one should be targeted because they are unable to wear a mask.”
A postal delivery of a card and lanyard costs £3.
To place an order, send an email to iamme@renfrewshire.gov.uk.
