POLICE have urged people to make sure their home is secure at all times after a pensioner in Renfrew found an intruder in her kitchen during the night.
The 77-year-old woman went to investigate a noise at her Murray Street home at around 9.15pm on Sunday when she spotted the unwelcome visitor, who was wearing a dark blue shirt, white shorts and trainers and a baseball cap.
He quickly ran out of the house and escaped through the back garden.
Police are keen for anyone who has information about the incident to call them on 101 and have also asked people in the area to make sure their doors are locked at all times.
