MOTORISTS are being warned to expect months of disruption as upgrades to the gas network in Renfrewshire take place.
The work is being carried out on the A760, between Lochwinnoch and Kilbirnie, on behalf of gas distribution company SGN and is scheduled to last for around 16 weeks.
Two-way traffic lights will be in place to ensure the safety of workers and road users.
A spokesperson for SGN said: “This project involves us replacing our existing gas mains and services in the area with new plastic pipe.
“We’re working closely with Scottish Government to make sure we carry out our project in line with all current coronavirus safety guidance. We shouldn’t need to interrupt gas supplies to homes or businesses and our engineers won’t be calling at residents’ homes.”
