POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a car was discovered on fire in a remote part of Renfrewshire.
Emergency services who rushed to the scene in Barnaigh Road, near East Mitchelton Farm, between Howwood and Lochwinnoch, at around 11pm on Tuesday found the parked vehicle well ablaze.
Police believe the extensively damaged car is a Vauxhall Corsa and confirmed the incident is being treated as wilful fireraising.
Inspector Allan O’Hare, head of community policing for Renfrewshire, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who noticed any suspicious vehicles in the area at the time.”
