POLICE are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured during an incident in Johnstone.
The 33-year-old man was found in Macdowall Street at around 1.40pm on Sunday following reports of a disturbance within a property.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow, where medical staff described his condition as "critical."
A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Ian Ross, of Renfrewshire CID, said: "We are continuing with enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident and residents may continue to see a police presence in this area.
"We would urge anyone with information about this incident who has not yet spoken to police to get in touch as soon as possible.
"We are also carrying out enquiries into an incident in the Caldwell Avenue area of Linwood around 11am on Sunday which may be connected to this incident in Johnstone.
