POLICE are on the trail of a crook who stole a charity tin from a Lochwinnoch bakery.
The 72-year-old owner of the John Wilson Baker shop, in the village’s Main Street, secured the premises at around 1pm on Monday and returned at around 7.45am on Tuesday to find a panel on the front door had been broken.
After going inside, it was discovered that a collection tin containing donations for St Vincent’s Hospice, in Howwood, had been taken from the shop counter.
Footage from a CCTV system covering the area shows a man walking away from the bakery at around 4.35am on Tuesday.
At the time, he was wearing a dark jacket with the hood up, a black hat, black gloves, black trousers and black trainers with white soles.
Anyone who can help the police with their investigation is asked to call officers on 101.
