Glasgow has rallied behind a home in Hamilton to have put their Christmas decorations up two months early.

Labour MSP Monica Lennon shared the image of the decorated home on Twitter, writing: "Christmas 2020 has arrived in Hamilton.

"We need something to smile about and the Cochran family have certainly brought some early festive cheer to ML3."

Hundreds of Glaswegians have since rallied behind the Hamilton family, adding that the decorations "might cheer someone up" after "rubbish year we've all had".

Glasgow Times:

Feeling the festive spirit, Chelle Rodger wrote: "Given it’s such a horrendous year, I’d be applauding if the whole street put theirs up now, a little bit of cheer is what we all need."

Louise Marie Hill added: "I don’t Blame them because 2020 hasn't been a good year so if they want to brighten up their house with a bit of Christmas cheer and put a smile on people‘s faces when they pass the house, then good for them."

Helen Geddes added: "Normally I'd say way too early but, its been a horrible year for everyone so, if it cheers people up why not."

"I guess we are living in crazy times so why not brighten up someone's life. Christmas is just not going to be the same this year anyway with no grottos, festivals, big family dinners etc", said Marc Biagioni.

"Why not, it will bring brightness in these dark days", wrote another Glaswegian.

Janice Stewart concluded: "Love it let’s bring a little light in to dark days."
