Thugs threw bricks through the windows of a house and set two cars alight on the same street in a "terrifying" late-night attack yesterday evening.
Police were called to the scene on Saffron Crescent in Wishaw at around 11.30pm after they received reports of a disturbance.
Increased patrols have since been stepped up within the area while the force appeal to witnesses for information.

Detective Inspector Kenny Dalrymple, of Wishaw CID, said: "This was a terrifying incident for the occupants of the house, who were thankfully not injured as a result.
"Enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and contact police.
"We will also be carrying out extra patrols in the area as enquiries continue and to offer community reassurance."
