The Glasgow Times underdstands six members of staff and a number of additional pupils are now self-isolating as a "precaution".

An employee from the primary school has since raised concerns, claiming that teachers at the school have been "mixing in staff rooms" rather than "following government rules".

It has been confirmed that there is no evidence of transmission of the virus within the school itself, where those who have not been asked to self-isolate can continue to return as normal.

Parents have been updated about the additional cases while enhanced daily cleaning procedures will be conducted on the premises.

A Glasgow City Council spokeswoman said: “The school will continue to keep their families updated with advice and guidance and a letter of reassurance was sent out this afternoon as we know that the ongoing global pandemic is causing anxieties.

“The school is following robust health and safety measures which includes enhanced daily cleaning in the building and everyone is reminded of the importance of physically distancing from each other in line with national guidance.

“School staff across the city are doing a great job in delivering an education to our children and young people in a difficult and in an evolving situation and should be congratulated for their efforts.”
