POLICE are appealing for information after a vile schoolboy spat on a security guard at a busy supermarket.

The 52-year-old victim was on duty in the Asda store at the Phoenix Retail Park at around 7.20pm on Monday when he noticed a large group of youths at the entrance.

After informing the group they would not be allowed inside, a boy - believed to be as young as 12 - spat on his jacket.

The yob is described as white and 4ft tall. At the time, he was wearing black glasses, a white jacket, dark jogging bottoms and white trainers.

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101.
