A MAN has been charged over alleged racial abuse of a worker at a takeaway business in Elderslie.
Police were called to Babylon, in the village's Main Road, at around 8.35pm on Saturday after a heated argument broke out between a member of staff and a 26-year-old man.
It is claimed the suspect shouted racial abuse at the 53-year-old worker.
Following the incident, officers traced the suspect nearby and he was taken into custody.
Police said he was released on an undertaking and is due to appear in court at a later date.
