POLICE are hunting a blade-wielding thug who stabbed a man in Renfrew.

The 27-year-old victim was attacked in Birch Way at around 7.40pm on Monday.

He was rushed by ambulance to Paisley's Royal Alexandra Hospital, where he was treated for his wounds before being released.

Police are treating the incident as a serious assault and CCTV footage is currently being reviewed as part of an investigation.

Detective Inspector Iain Ross, of Renfrewshire CID, said: "We are appealing for information from any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage in the area at that time."
