A RENFREWSHIRE town will be looking blooming marvellous, thanks to a £500 donation from a leading housebuilder.

Linwood in Bloom has banked the welcome windfall as part of Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s commitment to work in partnership with local communities.

The group, which is supported by the Linwood Community Development Trust (LCDT), will spend the cash on flowerbeds, troughs and planters.

Jeanette Anderson, LCDT chairperson, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support from Taylor Wimpey and can’t thank them enough for their generous donation.

“Each year, we work hard to create lovely floral displays for the enjoyment of the whole community and this donation makes a helpful contribution towards next year’s displays, which we are already planning.”

Audrey Ross, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said the company is “delighted” to support Linwood in Bloom.

She added: “The work we do is a lot more than just building high-quality homes. Being able to work with local businesses and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us and it’s great to know we are helping to make a difference.”
