POLICE are hunting a thug who attacked a man with a hammer in Johnstone.
The yob assaulted the 38-year-old victim near Thorn Court at around 11am on Sunday after they had been involved in a heated argument.
Although the victim suffered bruising and scratches to his right hand, he did not need hospital treatment.
The suspect, believed to be in his mid-to-late 30s, is described as slim and around 5ft 9ins tall, with a tattoo of a cannabis leaf on his left forearm.
At the time, he was wearing a dark tracksuit, trainers and a face covering displaying a skull.
Inspector Allan O’Hare, head of community policing for Renfrewshire, said: "We are appealing for information from any witnesses or anyone who may be able to identify this man."
Anyone who can help the police with their investigation is asked to call officers on 101.
