THREE men have been charged with possession of offensive weapons following a disturbance in Elderslie.
Police were called to the village's Main Road at around 10.40am on Tuesday after staff at the Super Hand car wash reported seeing three men brandishing weapons.
It is claimed the suspects – aged 24, 28 and 37 – were seen holding a baseball bat, shovel and screwdriver.
When police arrived, officers reviewed footage from a CCTV system covering the area before arresting the three men, who were still at the scene.
It is claimed they had visited the premises about a dispute over the ownership of a vehicle.
A police spokesperson said the three suspects were later released on an undertaking and are due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court at a later date.
