A MAN has been arrested after a Linwood couple spotted a stranger standing in their hallway.
Police said a 29-year-old resident in Bridge Street noticed the front door of his home was open at around 10.15pm on Thursday.
He then spotted a man in the hallway and challenged him.
The man apologised and left the property but the couple reported the incident and police later traced the suspect at a nearby bin shed.
He is said to have been found in possession of white tablets and was taken into custody.
Police confirmed a 37-year-old man has been charged with being in the curtilage of a property without a reasonable excuse, as well as a misuse of drugs offence.
A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
