POLICE have appealed for information after a car and hundreds of pounds worth of goods were stolen from a house in Johnstone.

The grey Ford Fiesta had been securely parked in Tannahill Crescent at around 9pm on Saturday but, when a 42-year-old resident checked on the car at around 7.30am the following morning, she discovered it had been taken.

The woman then found that one of the car keys was missing, along with several items from the living room.

Among the goods taken during the raid were a handbag containing a purse with credit cards and around £340 in cash, a HP laptop, an iPhone and a Nintendo Switch games console.

Inspector Allan O’Hare, head of community policing for Renfrewshire, said: "Please get in touch if you have seen anybody acting suspiciously in the area at this time."

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call officers on 101.
