A WOMAN has been charged over alleged racist abuse of a shopkeeper at a takeaway business in Elderslie.

Police were called to Babylon, in the village's Main Road, at around 7.20pm on Friday after an argument broke out over the phone about a food order placed by a customer.

It is claimed the woman was racially abusive towards the 53-year-old shopkeeper.
